In 2023, the World Childhood Foundation's AI hub Stella Polaris hosted inspirational seminars for researchers and academic institutions to share the latest information on how artificial intelligence can be used to prevent and combat child sexual abuse. We want to encourage the establishment of a network of dedicated researchers who want to explore more cross-sectoral collaborations.

<aside> 💡 One of the long-term goals of Stella Polaris is to accelerate research in Sweden on AI and child sexual abuse. In 2021 we made a baseline to find out to what extent research, PhD students and technical education programs raised the issue of AI in relation to child sexual abuse.
The baseline showed that the prevalence was zero.
Stella Polaris wants to change that baseline, i.e. we want to contribute for more researchers, PhD students and education programs to raise the issue of how artificial intelligence can be used to prevent child sexual abuse. Below you can see examples of research taking place abroad in this area. For more examples of research abroad, visit our Knowledge Center by scanning the QR code.
